What this template is, and who it's for

This is a focused website quote for freelancers and studios who've already agreed the brief and just need to put a clear price in front of the client. It's lighter than a full proposal: no long narrative, just what's included, what it costs, and what's optional.

Use it for repeat clients, warm leads, or any job where the relationship is established and the question is really "how much?".

How to use it

  1. 1Copy the block below as Markdown or PDF.
  2. 2Fill in the line items and prices. Group them so the client can see where the money goes.
  3. 3Keep the In scope / Out of scope, Revisions and Contingency lines, a bare number

invites scope creep; these hold it.

  1. 1Set a validity date and send.

What makes a good website quote

  • Group your line items. Discovery, design, build, launch. A client reading a grouped quote

understands what they're paying for; a single figure just becomes a target to negotiate down.

  • Show a range when there's genuine uncertainty. A £12,400 – £14,100 bracket is honest about

early unknowns and still commits you to a ceiling, better than a precise number you'll have to walk back.

  • Put extras in their own list. Optional items let a client add budget on their own terms and

keep your core price clean. They also plant the seed for a bigger project.

  • Never send a number without scope. The out-of-scope list and revision cap are what make a

quote enforceable. A price with no boundaries is an invitation to scope creep.

  • Date it. A validity window protects your pricing against a client who comes back in six months

expecting the same figure.
